Dinosaur Reports. Week Ending: 24.11.17

Hello, This week Tweet will be spending the weekend with Ben. Ben has shown great independent learning this week. Well done to Isabella who is Star of the Week. Isabella is always pleased for others achievements.  In maths we have been learning about multiplication. We used an array to help us. 3 x 3 = 9 *** *** *** In English we have been learning about non-chronological reports. First we wrote a plan which included dinosaur facts and then we wrote a non-chronological report about dinosaurs.  Home learning this week is to look at objects around your home and comment on the material it is made from.  Don't forget tomorrow is the Christmas Bazaar!  It is from11am-2pm. Remember to look for your Christmas decoration! Please practise the keywords at the back of your reading record. Practise reading and spelling the words.  Have a lovely weekend!

Work Shadowing. Week Ending: 17.11.17

Hello, Today we came to school wearing spots and stripes to raise money for Children In Need.  This week we focused on money in maths. It is really important to handle money and to work out change. Have a go over the weekend counting different amounts of money with your grown ups.  During English we have been looking at non- fiction texts and we spoke about the features. Next week we will be writing a non-chronological report on two dinosaurs. Home learning this week is to research two of the following dinosaurs- Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, T-Rex or Stegosaurus. What a Busy Week... Week Ending: 10.11.17

Hello,  On Thursday we played basketball and had a go at some dribbling skills. Take a look at the photographs on our Year 2 page.  This week Tweet will be going home with Oliver for his 'have a go' attitude and perseverance with his learning.  Well done to Emily who is Star of the Week for supporting others with their learning.  In English we made our own firework poems and put these all together to make a Chestnut Class poetry book.  In maths we have been learning about empty number lines and we used this strategy to help us take away. When you take away you always start with the biggest number.  This week we have been doing some firework dancing we thought about the shape and patterns that fireworks create.  We cannot wait to watch the Music Assembly this afternoon. Harry, Emily, Ben and Emily will be performing in it.  Miss Hoad has set us a challenge. If we get 19 or more comments on our blog we will earn 2 marbles!  This week we have been wearing poppie

Fantastic Sharing Assembly! Week Ending: 3.11.17

Hello, Today was 'Glow Day' we wore bright clothes to remind people about being seen in the dark. When you are out at night remember to stay with the adult you are with.  This morning was our fantastic sharing assembly! we impressed all our grown ups and adults with our learning so far this term. We enjoyed showing off our Learning Owl skills with you all- we hope you enjoyed it! During Creative Writing we became fireworks and we wrote a firework diary. We thought about what you would see, hear and smell at a firework display. "I was an orange and blue firework" Erin " I was a rainbow firework" Jack "My firework was gold and it turned into a Catherineen Wheel" Will Star of Week is Clara for always showing kindness to others.   Tweet will be spending the weekend with Charlie for preserving with his learning.
